FIRST UK SHOWING FOR NEW JCB TELESCOPIC HANDLERS AT LAMMA
The latest high-capacity telescopic handlers, being introduced by JCB to bolster productivity for large farms and contractors, will make their UK debut at the LAMMA agricultural machinery and farm technology show.
The newcomers will share a dynamic exhibition stand in Hall 17, NEC Birmingham on 14/15 January, 2026 with two new Compact Loadall telehandlers being previewed before they are launched in 2026, and other machines representing the JCB’s diverse and comprehensive agricultural materials handling product range.
Loadall 546-70 and 555-70
The JCB Loadall 546-70, capable of lifting 4.6 tonnes, and the Loadall 555-70, with maximum lift capacity of 5.5 tonnes, join an already comprehensive line-up of agricultural telescopic handlers catering for all types and sizes of farming, commercial horticulture and other rural enterprises.
JCB Agriculture Managing Director, John Smith, said: “The new Loadall 546-70 and 555-70 illustrate JCB’s determination to meet the evolving needs of farmers and contractors with innovative and productivity-led solutions, in this case by introducing two new Loadall models with increased performance in a package no larger – and therefore just as agile – as our existing 7.0 metre machines.”
Both newcomers lift loads to 7.0 metres, featuring a 160-litre/min hydraulics system for quick loading and re-handling cycles, and significantly greater tear-out force than the current 542-70 – increased by 15% for the 546-70 and a massive 45% for the 555-70 – for tasks such as clearing out over-wintering cattle yards and mastering a large volume re-handling bucket on a biogas unit.
The newcomers will be available with a choice of JCB DieselMAX engine power from 130hp to 173hp, and exclusively use JCB’s DualTech VT part-hydrostatic, part-powershift transmission that is ideal for both low-speed yard and field work, and high-speed road travel and towing ability.
IntelliAssist
The Loadall 546-70 and 555-70 introduction coincides with the development of IntelliAssist, a suite of automated boom and attachment functions, and other user assistance features, that simplify and reduce the operator workload.
Automated functions include boom height and boom reach limits, auto boom extension and retraction, attachment angle memory, and both return to high for loading and return to low for the next fork or bucket-fill.
John Smith added: “The new system eases the operator’s workload, reducing fatigue over long working days, while complementing the Loadall’s comprehensive Smart Hydraulics features to give experienced and novice telehandler operators alike the tools and confidence to work efficiently and to consistently achieve maximum productivity.”
Compact 526-60 and 530-60 preview
JCB will preview two Loadall Compact 6.0 metre telescopic handlers featuring an all-new operator cab that provides a quieter, more spacious working environment and improved visibility from the driver’s seat.
Operators will find the Next Generation Compact cab more spacious, with more storage places and net pockets, and improved anti-noise and vibration measures, making it a more comfortable place to work.
The machines also feature an improved power braking system with an electric park brake, and on the 530-60, a twin line hydraulic trailer braking system.
